Grade 5/6 – Pick Your Tool

Mrs. Broadhurst’s class is working on social studies projects connected to Canada and the world.

Today, we looked at different productivity tools (apps, websites, etc…) that students can use to present their projects.

Here are some of the ones that we talked about:
– Google Slides (for presentations)
– Prezi for Education (for presentations)
– GlogsterEDU (for interactive digital posters)
– Incredibox (for music/rap videos)

Videos, podcasts and animations are also possible ways to present your project, but we didn’t have time to get into specifics.

For next week, I would like you to pick WHAT topic you will be presenting (for example, which global issue) and HOW you will be presenting it (for example, Google Slides).

For Google Slides, you can log in using your @ocdsb.ca e-mail accounts.

For GlogsterEDU go here http://edu.glogster.com/signup?type=student. Please use your @ocdsb.ca account.  My teacher code is 56DF8H.

For Prezi, you will need to use your @ocdsb.ca email account to create a free account here: https://prezi.com/signup/edu/enjoy/

For Incredibox, there is no log in required.  We can talk later about how to record your song and then make a QR code.  (Please note that Incredibox does not work on iPads, iPhones, etc…)

*** For Prezi and Glogster, there must be an adult (parent/guardian or teacher) sitting next to you at the computer when you first create your account.***
