Rap 1 – Test mardi

Mardi, la classe de Mme Broadhurst va avoir un petit test (facile!) sur les infinitifs (le Rap numéro 1).  Le test va avoir 3 sections: Choisis le bon mot, écrit le mot qui n’est pas dans la phrases (fill in the blank) et corrige les fautes.  Mrs. Broadhurst class will have a test on Tuesday.  The test is the same as many examples that we have been doing in class over the past few weeks, dealing with when to use the infinitive form of French verbs.

(Unfortunately the sound did not work properly on this tutorial. Arg! You can still get the hang of it by watching the writing, though. Hopefully is will remind you of what I explained in class.)

Aujourd’hui on a lu la pièce, Les animaux du bayou.  Cette semaine et la semaine prochaine, je veux que tout le monde pratique la pièce à la maison, au moins (at least) trois fois.

For homework, you must practice reading, saying or listening to the play, at least three time, over the next two weeks.

Tu peux lire la pièce tout seul ou avec Mme Maxwell à sp.aimlanguagelearning.com ou tu peux apporter ta pièce à ta maison. Aussi, voici l’audio pour la pièce, Les animaux du bayou. Tu peux écouter ça à ta maison pour t’aider avec la prononciation. N’oublie pas de parler fort et avec expression. Pense: Est-ce que le personnage est triste, content, nerveux, intelligent…?

After-School Mandarin Club (grade 3 and 4 only)

A letter was sent home today to all grades 3 and 4 students, inviting them to join the after-school Mandarin club.  Here are some of the details:

The SMPS Mandarin Club will use the same AIM teaching methods that we use in our Core French classes and will run on Mondays from 3:45-4:30 p.m., beginning on November 30, 2015 and ending on January 25, 2016. This club is for students who speak absolutely no Mandarin but are keen to learn.

The club will be taught by Madame Rudick – SMPS Core French and former Beijing resident – and Ms. Sarah Zong, SMPS early childhood educator, native Mandarin speaker, and experienced Mandarin teacher.

Registration is limited to 16 students, first come, first serve.  To register your child, please return the completed form to your child’s teacher by Friday November 27.  (Please only register if you think that your child will be able to attend all six sessions.)

Parents will be contacted by e-mail to confirm registration.

SMPS Parent Council presents – Inside Out
